clearFusionCMS & Shop Updates & Module Upgrades

19 Nov 2014

Coming Soon!

It's been a while since our last update to clearFusionCMS, because we have been busy with client customisations for their websites.  The Elves have been hard at work and have now incorporated a lot of these customisations into our next release of clearFusionCMS, and been upgrading and improving the modules.

There's a long list of improvements across the whole system but a few key highlights are:

Responsive Template Frameworks

Frameworks are just as personal as the type of editor a web builder uses.  So with this in mind we have personalized the way in which our CMS can be built.  Templates can now be built in these frameworks;  Bootstrap 3, Foundation 5 or in our own fusionCSS2!  Modules, such as the shop out of the box, are also fully supported.

SubCategories/Nesting

Modules, such as the Shop, Gallery & Blog, now allows items such as shop products & sub-categories to be grouped into nested categories.  This not only allows the Blog more versatility, but it also allows better product groupings for Shops, Galleries & Brochures.  You still get the convenience of customisation the template, and now you can nest categories & products as you require them.

Less

For developers we have added a content type of less, just write your less code within a Document set to a content type of less and the CMS will compile, cache and serve the CSS to your visitors browsers.

Management Treeview

The backend management treeview has also been given a makeover and is now more intuitive as well as providing better feed back on Document states.  Hopefully this will take some of the previous confusion out of nesting documents under folders.

Installable Templates

We've just made installing templates so much easier!  Templates can now be built and shipped as installable zip files and include the ability to create custom fields.  The ability to create chunks and templates within the manager continues to exist to cater for the advanced developers. It also allows site builders to replace elements from their chosen theme by simply creating a new chunk or template of the same name with the replacement HTML.

What this means is for those on a tight budget you can start with a ready built responsive design and as the site grows replace it with a custom design with additional features. Your site grows with your business.

On the Horizon....

Soon we're going to be making building a webpage so much easier.... a LOT easier!  Your clients are going to love this!  Even the most novice user!  So keep watching!
